3 Takeaways from Ashley Goodman
Here are three takeaways from my conversation with Ashley:
1. Flexibility
Ashley discussed the biggest lesson she’s learned in the role is to be flexible. As discussed in this episode and many others, the responsibilities of the role will and can change daily. Flexibility also helps when understanding a Head Coach and what their mission is for the role.
2. Coaching is Coaching is Coaching
Ashley discussed how she continues to use the skills she learned from coaching for her transition into player development. Although it may not be strategic adjustments to win a game, in this role you are coaching players to make strategic choices in their life.
3. NFL and CFB Development
Ashley discussed the similarities and differences from her time at the NFL and college level. She discussed the mandatory programming that the NFL provides and mentioned it would be good for college football. I completely agree.
