I Listened to Every NEW Head Coach's Press Conference. Here's What I Got From Them...
How many of the new head coaches do you think talked about player development?
So, one of the pieces of advice I give to those who are looking to get into player development is to listen to the introductory press conferences of head coaches.
Why is this important?
The head coach is giving you his plan for student-athletes
This information can be used in player development interviews with the coach at a later date
I learned this from my guy, Alex Brown, who would always listen to these press conferences to see what coaches were saying in regards to recruiting and roster building. One day he listened to a introductory press conference of newly hired Kansas head coach Les Miles.
If you know my story, I actually was hired by Coach Miles shortly after that press conference. During my interviews with him I referenced many things he said in his press conference.
I have passed this advice on and took time to listen to the press conference and let you know if they mentioned player development or not.
