Need Help With YOUR Player Development Pitch?
Here are THREE ways you can pitch player development as a NEED.
Let me know if one of these three scenarios is one where you find yourself:
You understand the importance of player development, you don’t see the position or a program where you are and you have the courage to let a coach or administrator know the need, but you find yourself without a plan.
You are in the role, but you need your coach or administrator to understand their support and allotment of resources will allow you to impact the athletes in the program in a new way.
You want to create the position, you see the need, you didn’t realize that pitching this great opportunity was a possibility.
Wherever you find yourself this week’s Player Development Pod will help you pitch player development in three easy steps. Before I talk about these three easy steps. Let’s discuss the 2025 Player Development Summit.

WILL YOU BE THERE?
There are three ways player development can help the program you are looking to include it in. These are areas where player development creates immense value for the athletes and the program. They are the following areas of impact:
Players
Program and Staff
External Relations
When pitching player development it is always GREAT to have a clear communication plan or strategy of how this enormous need provides value. Many know players need more value added to their experiences but they do not or can not communicate clearly where and how this can happen.
THIS CAN’T BE YOU DURING YOUR PITCH.
So let’s dive into more detail about how each area can provide an impact a coach and administrator can see, feel, and understand.
I will share the detail in the following pictures and more will be discussed in tomorrow’s Player Development Pod episode.
Players
Here are three areas you can expound upon and show your coach or administrator the impact player development can have on the players.
Program and Staff
These three areas are available for you to create a strategic plan of action when letting those in position the ways player development can help the program and staff they oversee.
External Relations
Everyone wants to get to the coach or administrator and this is where your pitch may be it’s most effective. If you are able to let a coach know you can remove responsibilities or opportunities from their plate, THEY WILL LOVE YOU. Here are three areas where the external relations impact can be great.
As I mentioned earlier all of this will be discussed on The Player Development Pod this week. You can set your notification for the episode here:
